Title: Battery to Battery Charger
Post by: vicwa on January 17, 2021, 05:57:24 pm
Does a 2016 LTV Unity MB or its Mercedes Sprinter Chassis have a conventional DC relay in the positive cable between the engine battery and the house batteries?  I added a Renogy 40 amp Battery to Battery Charger.  It is not functioning properly and I am unsure why.  It may have something to do with the “regenerative braking” aspect in the Mercedes alternator system.  Or, do I need to remove the conventional relay (if it has one) which I cannot find?  And, maybe I just got a bad B2B charger.  I am thinking of switching to the Sterling brand because it can compensate for the regenerative braking in the alternator.  Has anyone had experience with either brand?  Thanks.

I installed a Sterling 30 to 30 Dc charger by removing the isolator solenoid.  This is in a 2019 Wonder.
LTV now installs the Sterling in all LTVs.
