Title: MB Distronic Cruise Inoperative/Active Brake Assit Limited
Post by: MikeC on June 10, 2021, 08:08:11 am
On a MB VS 30 chassis, has anyone else experienced the Distronic cruise cutting out and the above noted error messages appearing in the instrument display?  I have learned that this is a problem known to MB and LTV with no clear solution. Mine has cut out in the rain and then also randomly at other times. I am curious as to the situation causing this, also how other experiencing this condition reset their system. I understood by stopping and turning off engine and restarting, the system will reset - mine won't. Randomly it will start working again while driving. I am running unit into MB dealer to check it out but based on discussion with MB service rep this is a known issue with no clear solution however they said they would check my sensors anyways.

Moisture causes the distance sensor to become unreliable. It limits the function to prevent you smashing into something. You could have a bad sensor if there are no environment issues when it happens. There are several topics in the sprinter and MB forums. Here's one
