Title: Transfer Switch
Post by: Sheila M Groves on May 20, 2022, 08:12:07 pm
I have read on a number of posts a reference to a transfer switch between the shore power and the inverter! I have a 2017 Unity MB and I believe the transfer switch may be the problem, where is this transfer switch located ?
I can see it on the wiring diagram, however, I can’t find it in the unit!!

Thanks !

I am getting desperate!!! Is there anyone on this form who can let me know where the transfer switch is from the Shore power to the panel?? I have a 2017 Unity MB, the shore power is not coming into the unit, I would take it to a dealer, however, the dealer in Langley BC will not make appointments for service for anyone who did not purchase their unit from them!! In all the years of owning an RV I have never run into this type of service situation before!
However, I have read all posts regarding shore power issues and most have found replacing the transfer switch has corrected the problem, I can find the switch on the electrical schematics, it looks to be under the shower, however, it is not! So is anyone familiar with where this transfer switch is located?? Thank you in advance I appreciate any help you may be able to offer!!

I don’t know about your model, but it should be close to where your shore power comes into the coach.
The usual path is, shore power in to surge protector, if you have one, then to transfer switch.  The generator power will also go into the transfer switch.  Then out to your distribution panel (circuit breakers).
Sorry that’s the best I can do.  Usually a silver square box.

Transfer switch.  The silver box.
Black box above.  Surge protector

There are actually two transfer switches.  one for shore power/gen power and on built into the inverter to bypass when on shore power….
