Title: Truflow macerater leaking
Post by: Shawnadele on May 27, 2022, 05:59:20 pm
I noticed a small leak where the bayonet adapter attaches to the pump. It’s in the area that moves a tiny bit if one were to wiggle the pump by hand. I further noticed a small crack in one of the bayonet tangs. Looking for a replacement is very difficult, anybody know who makes these or where Leisure gets them? I’d like to replace it along with the O-ring. Any help would be appreciated.
The pump works just swell.

On some macerators the section with the bayonet tabs can be unscrewed & replaced.  On others it is glued in place.  Get resourceful, you may be able to cut it off & glue on a new tab section.

I've wondered about this thing since I bought the Unity TB.  Obviously, the macerator comes off and a regular sewer hose can be attached.  Is the macerator really necessary?  Does it improve the process of emptying the tanks?  If it fails, and you remove it, does the electrical cable unplug, or do you reinstall it until the next time you dump your tanks?  I suppose I could look more closely into this.  Might be a good idea since summer is upon us.

As I watch others mess with their dirty hose I’m truly grateful for my macerator. There are all kinds of pros and cons but the simplicity and ease along with the sanitary attribute, I’ve decided I really like it.  Electrical connection unplugges by the way.

if you join myLTV you can access the manufacturers manuals - and there is a chat function that gets you access to someone at the factory who are good at answering questions about where to find parts.
I would not trade my macerator for a 3" hose; it makes it so much easier to dump.  Knowing what can go in a black tank is part of making sure it works well.
in my 2016 Unity I have a Thethford Sani-Con  https://www.thetford.com/parts/rv-sani-con/

Any idea how it attaches? For obvious reasons when I remove this I don’t want to be putting it back on and removing it again and again.  Is there an O-ring? If so what size? Does it screw onto the Shurflow pump?  I am a member of “my LTV“. I will go back and check the manual however I haven’t found a way to communicate with a specialist.  Thanks for the part number.  That really helps!

At the bottom right of myLTV page there is a green circle - that starts a conversation with someone in Winkler-
From the picture you have a bayonet connection - which is the standard 3" sewer hose connection.
the tab in the middle of the picture  look like the tab might be stressed or starting to break but hard to tell from picture -
if leaking maybe the tabs need to be reinforced or just the connection needs to be cleaned.
I have not taken might apart so looked for videos. I can not find any videos that shows there is gasket
