If you have Stainless steel wheel covers, especially rear with attached air valves for both wheels, zip tie all your hubcap assembly cause when they fly off at 70 mph, you instantly hit the ground and tires and rims are done. 3500$ wheel well damage 500 $ towing van and fiat 500, on site mechanic 400$ + new tires and rims and new hubcap assembly.
By the way LTV road side assistance left me by the road. I had to call 911 to get help.
LTVRSA told me , it is not in their policy to tow you off a highway. you must first be towed by an independant to a neutral safe area where LTVRSA would then tow both vehicles again.

You have a good reason to remove the covers and just paint the steel wheels.
Now im left holding the bill. Insurance contacted, rv dealer contacted, claim number.. got it, next drive it north 4 hours and drop it off
for repairs,$$$$ and warranty work (fingers crossed) new rubber all round to match the 2 new rears (blowout)
Trying to understand road side assistance if you cant get assistance when broken down on the side of the road. I certainly didnt intend on breaking down in the first place, but to be told that i cant break down on the Trans Canada Highway 7821 klm (just shy of 5Kmiles) from coast to coast, Been across it 8 times so far and many more times to come for there are new discoveries, on each new trip on these, my familiar country roads.
Brings a tear to a glass eye.......but jm to told that i cant get help when help is needed ...IDUNNO!!!!!!!
No more money for LTVRSA. Anyone know of any good road side services that i can get in canada. LTVRSA is in Texas, they still think we live in igloos..
CAA has an RV add on to a premium membership. At least mine does with BCAA. 🤞 not that I had to try to use them yet.
on the other hand I purchased the bolts that is needed when taking out the drive shaft so they can flat tow the RV.
got it at MB dealer in Kelowna it was $3.99 for 4 bolts Part # N000000 007445
and I have a socket set in case the tow truck driver does not have the correct size.
FYI - I have Alcoa Wheels.
We experienced the same problem on the Trans Canada Highway just east of Swift Current. The rear outside hub cap flew off striking a semi behind us. Both wheels then blew. The inside wheel valve which was screwed to the outside simulator tore off when the outer wheel blew. We called Safe Ride Motor Coach club and after 4 hrs of waiting they informed us that the tow truck had broken down could not get another tow truck until 4 PM the next day and apologized. Heated argument ensued. We called the RCMP who arrived and protected us from the outside lane of traffic and called Fountain Tire Lethbridge around 9 PM and they dispatched a truck with 2 replacement tires which were installed at roadside. We were on our way around midnight. $1100for replacement tires and service call. Contacted Safe Ride and they were to look into our complaint and assured us they would cover the service call charges.
Why aren't all 2017 MERCEDES BENZ chassis used by EEE on my 2018 Unity UMB equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitor System? Would reduce driver stress considerable in light of all the problems being encountered especially on those equipped with wheel simulators
Because MB still does not have factory TPMS on the Sprinter 3500.
We have the Alcoa alum wheels option which eliminates covers flying off.
Alcoa rear hub caps disappear also. One side gone so I removed other. Expensive Glamour 🤨
