We have a 2019 Unity-MB on he Sprinter chassis with 400W solar option. When we boon-dock over nite battery SOC 60% and start driving the next morning the alternator seems to think the house batteries are fully charged and only the solar panels charge the house batteries. Max amps 15 25 amps alternator could be throwing 50 amps. driving 4-5 hours the batteries are only 75% SOC. It would appear to me that before I start driving the panels are at 12.8 Volts and the engine alternator thinks they are charged since the system is basically volt driven. Is this the issue or do I have equipment problem or is there a work around. Thanks in advance
Now that you mention this mine dies the same thing. I upgraded all my solar with Victron and 600 watts of solar but still get no charging from alternator like you. Hopefully someone has some insight. I may try to change the inboard charger that LTV put in under the seat to see if that helps?
I did find this article.
