Considering a Downsize from Class A

Hi all!

The wife and I bought a 2023 Thor Palazzo 2 years ago with plans for friends and family etc. coming along and, predictably, we’re looking to downsize.  Nobody comes along, it’s just us in this huge bus, and it’s a PAIN!

We’re looking at a new Unity FX.  Went and saw one in person today and I really think it would be perfect for us.

A few items I’d love input from you all on.  We had a bad experience on our first rv purchase.  We were new, didn’t get a great PDI, had a ton of service issues that they never resolved, etc.  just made every trip stressful.

Do you all ENJOY your RV?  Is it a JOY or pain?  What are the common issues?  What’s build quality?  Typical upgrades?

I saw 3 new ones and a 5 year old one someone traded in for a new model, all were in immaculate shape and looked great.

Help me decide…. Do I want to downsize or just sell and go back to flying everywhere?

Hi David,
I just picked up my 2nd Leisure Travel Unity so I’m obviously a fan of the brand. It is well made and easy to drive. My first one was a 2017 TB and this one is a 2026 Rear Lounge. I love both! The rear lounge offers sleeping in back while the front can be used by another person and always tidy. I looked at the FX too but decided I want two completely separate living/sleeping areas that can be closed off by a door.  I really liked that about our first LTV TB. There is something about traveling in a motor home that is enjoyable to me so whether to fly is a personal preference. I have a dog so for me it’s a no brainer…no dog no travel🤣. There are less expensive class B and Cs out there, but I opted for quality. If you prefer a Ford engine, the Leisure Travel Wonder is less expensive and offers all the same layouts, I believe.  Good luck!

My wife and I are on RV #6 and it's a Wonder MBL - LOVE IT!  Just downsized from a Nexus Ghost, a super C.  Thought we needed the extra space, blah, blah, blah.  Nope, the Wonder is Wonderful!  I did enjoy driving the Nexus but ran into all the issues with a 35 ft RV and the diesel and DEF are now gone.  Regular gas in a Ford that has all the power and smooth ride that is enjoyable between stops.  We hate flying, airports, and all that associated with that process and crush.  Looking back it was a no brainer and the quality is much better, so far, than we have experienced with other brands to include winnebago, nexus, forrest river, thor.  Have fun figuring it out.
