Wonder / Re: Lithium upgrade
Last post by Ripcurl Duggerbeck -Turn off the inverter, disconnect the main house power switch & protect (cover) the Positive terminal connection while working in the bay as there is still power coming from your solar panels.
Here's some pictures of my replacement. I wanted to reuse the battery trays to keep things from moving around. However, my new batteries where a bit wider and longer. So, I cut the trays in quarters so I could get the new batteries into them and remounted them in the bay. Worked out well.... reduce, reuse! Also, really like the Epoch bluetooth monitoring app!

Wonder / Re: How to Disconnect Lithium Batteries, Zamp Solar Controller
Last post by Ripcurl Duggerbeck -You need to stop solar from sending power to the batteries.
You can cover each panel to prevent charging.
You can install a switch in the incoming solar cable befor the controller, to turn off power going to the batteries.
You can disconnect the incoming solar cable from the controller.
Newbie here, thought I'd add to this discussion to say thanks for these tips. I'm installing new House batteries and all of this is pretty relevent to that as well!
I found an additional video that covers the newer coaches here.

Wonder / Re: Replacement chassis battery for '22 Wonder 24FTB
Last post by Harrysalit -I decided to replace mine with Duracells AGM from Sams Club. First 2 replaced, would not hold a charge. Now 2 months later, the replacements won’t hold a charge for more than 2 weeks. The original Fords would hold a charge for months!
Now added a trickle charger, which charges the chassis from the house batteries. It’s working.

Wonder / Re: Questions re. 2022 Wonder model 24FTB
Last post by Harrysalit -I purchased new a 2019 WonderFtb, to date about 43,000 miles, tow a car & get 14.5mpg on diesel.
I got from Costco generic rubber mats, cut them to fit, not as nice as custom, but they work, low money.
You definitely should switch to Lithiums, install & no more maintenance, don’t even open the bat compartment anymore! First year installed 2 Battle Born Lithiums, made no other changes for a year. Then added, dc to dc charger, 2000w Xantrex inverter/charger, battery monitor. Couple years later removed the failing flex panels & replaced with six Renogy 100w ridged panels.
I have no plans to run the AC on batteries, if you plan on that then you need the 3000w inverter. But I have replaced the horribly loud Dometic AC with a very efficient Atmos, which will run on the 2000w inverter.
Five years ago there were not many choices for Lithium batteries, now there are dozens, and at much lower prices.
If you boondock a lot, no AC, I think a minimum of 400 amps of Lith are needed, 600 watts of solar, 50 amp dc to dc charger, my thoughts.
My Dometic refer is over 5 years old, still working fine, last time out, refer 32, frzr 2! Current 12 volt refers use about 50-75 amps per day, unless on shore power, you need good battery bank & lots of panels to re-charge.
My tall cabinet is full, no built in shelves, you do need access on left side for the surge & transfer switch.
I was in the 80’s when I made these changes myself!
On Face Book are a number of good groups, start by joining, Leisure Travel Vans Enthusiasts. There are How to, sell/buy, etc. also join MyLtv sponsored by Ltv factory, also register as new owner.
Now for something not talked about much, but some coaches, from 2017 to 2023 have soft floors. In bare feet wal slowy the entire length of the coach. Can you feel where every cross member is? In mine there is an obvious depression in front of the cook top area. Ltv has agreed to fix it under a courtesy warranty. You as second owner???
There is also a very active group on SprinterForum, under Leisure Travel Vans, then Unity. Lot it applies to Wonders.
