Topic: Installing new ‘inside’ Truma AquaGo control dial/switch (Read 2430 times) previous topic - next topic

There has been only one ‘dislike’ I have about my 2016-2017 Unity UMB and that is my having to go outside to turn my Truma AquaGo on-demand hot water heater on and off. I recently purchased the Truma 3-part installation kit (inside control dial, communication wiring and outer control panel replacement) which comes with absolutely no instructions. I spoke briefly with a Truma tech and was able to mount/install the kit with no issues. The new inside switch is suppose to override the outside toggle switch, but I am to choose which setting, Economy or Comfort I would like to leave it on. Even though the inside switch is in the ‘off’ position; I noticed that when I put the outer toggle to the ‘Comfort’ setting….the green light comes on and the unit turns on (even though the inside dial is ‘off’). I noticed that the new inside control dial has a choice of two different places to plug the communication wire into the back, so I tried plugging the wire into the other available spot (thinking maybe one plug is for Economy and the other plug is for Comfort)….but no change. The inside dial controller does not seem to be overriding the outside toggle switch. I attempted to contact the Truma tech yesterday, but he had apparently gone home for the holiday weekend. I was curious if anyone on this forum has had any experience with this upgrade/install and knows what I am doing wrong??
